An Eye In The Deep Dark

"Some times they play with us for their fun but you have no idea what makes their fun true."

CHAPTER1  EMILY

When we were moving from Germany back to the states, my then five year old daughter said to me "Mommy, I'm really
going to miss Emily."I racked my brain and could not recall a friend named Emily, so I asked her about it. I'll never forget
these words. She set her warm chocolate down, glanced up at me with the most casual smile and said, "You know, the
girl who crawls out from under my bed to play with me

CHAPTER 2  IN THE CLOSET

The clock on my bedside table flashed 3:45 AM. The closet was open and it had entered my room. It was slender and twig-like, it's grey skin almost transparent. It's bones were showing and it's teeth were like needles. It began approaching me slowly, creating a vicious growling sound. It was so close now I could feel it's breath on my face. It lifted it's slender arm to reveal claws as sharp as daggers, and swung it in my direction. I woke up. The clock on my bedside table flashed 3:44 AM. I heard my closet door opening.

CHAPTER 3  THE STARING WOMAN

A girl got on a train one might. She sat down opposite this woman, who was sat between two men. She wasn't too bothered about them, except the fact that the woman seemed to be staring at her, but she couldn't quite see because the woman had her hood up. At the got on the train and sat next to the girl. After about five minutes, the guy wispered to the girl, "Get off the next stop with me, it's important that you trust me."
At the station, The Train stopped. The girl got off the train with the man and watched the train speed by. The man then turned to the girl and said "Thank God,
I am a doctor and that woman was dead, the two men beside her were holding her up."
I was fully astronized.

CHAPTER 4  STRANGER

There is 5 years between my (older) brother and I. One night shortly after I was brought home, my brother was asleep in his room. He heard knocking and scraping around in his closet. He woke, sat up in bed and watched a man he describes as the Devil exit the closet. He walked to the foot of his bed, smiled and said "I'll see you soon kid" and then returned to the closet. My brother, (rightfully) terrified went running into my parents room and immediately told them what had happened. For the next few nights they let him sleep with them. Just a few nights later, the ceiling in his room collapsed, crushing his bed.

CHAPTER 5  THE NEVER ENDING ROAD

Everyone in Pinewood, California knows the stories of the Never Ending Road. The road that travelers disappear down once the night sky blankets the earth. The road teenagers are dared to drive down in the middle of the night never to be seen again.
Especially, the road's true name was Lester Road. Now, over twenty years later, the landscape of Corona has changed, and the Never Ending Road is no more. However, years ago, Lester Road was an unlit road that people claimed became a never ending road when driven at night. The people who
made such a drive were never seen or heard from again.
The legend became so well-known that people refused to even drive Lester Road during the day. One night, like many teens my age, drove up Lester Road, but only a short distance, and in my headlights it did look like it went forever. Frightened, I quickly turned around, because if I continued up the road, thought I might never return again.
Perpetuation of the legend convinced local law enforcement to investigate. Lester Road took a sharp left turn at its end, and there were no guard rails. Beyond the curve lay a canyon, and on the other side of the canyon was another road that lined up so well with Lester Road that when viewed from the correct angle, especially at night, the canyon vanished from sight, and the road seemed to
continue on up and over the hill on the other side of the canyon.
Upon investigation of the canyon, dozens of cars were found, fallen to their doom, with the decomposing bodies of the victims still strapped to their seats.

CHAPTER 6  THE PHOTOGRAPH

A few months ago a friend of mine, who
is an up-and-coming nature photographer, decided to spend a day and night alone in the woods outside of our town.
She wanted to get photos of the woods and wildlife as naturally as she could for her portfolio. She wasn't afraid of being alone, as she had camped by herself many times before. She set up a tent in the middle of a small clearing and spent the day taking pictures. She filled up four rolls of film on that trip, but something was strange about them. What she saw in those pictures has stayed with her ever since, and she is still trying to recover from the trauma the have caused her.
Almost every picture was accounted for,
save for one picture in each roll of film.
These pictures were of her, asleep in her
tent in the middle of the night.

CHAPTER 7  THE PILLS

My husband had been a godsend since I got sick. My doctors were really stumped at first, but we figured it out. The doctor prescribed me a medicine to take every 6 hours. It's supposed to help with the pain.
My husband is an excellent nurse. At first,I hated to have him do it. My illness was turning me into a person I didn't recognize moody, temperamental and very impatient but my husband just kept going, giving me the tiny blue/green pills that would cure my ails. But my symptoms worsened. My nose started to bleed profusely. My husband left a message with the doctor, but no response. I started developing bruises and my stomach was always
upset.
The doctor apparently thought this could be solved by an increase in medicine, so I began taking it every 4 hours. I smiled pitifully at my husband, thanking him for his devotion and swallowing that bluish pill.
He ran a gentle hand through my hair. A fistful of hair had come out along with it.
I cried and cried, but I really just needed to be alone. I sent my husband to the store. A few minutes after he left, I realized I needed to take a dose. I weakly
climbed out of bed and made it to the medicine cabinet. There were my little blue pills, scattered loosely around the cabinet. I grabbed the pill bottle
and unscrewed the cap so I could dump them back in. My pills were white.

CHAPTER 8  THE PORTRAIT OF A BEAUTIFUL GIRL

One school day, a boy named Tom was sitting in class and doing math. It was six more minutes until after school. As he was doing his homework, something caught his eye. His desk was next to the window, and he turned and looked to the grass outside. It looked like a picture. When school was over, he ran to the spot
where he saw it. He ran fast so that no one else could grab it.
He picked it up and smiled. It had a picture of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She had a dress with tights on and red shoes, and her hand was formed into a peace sign.
She was so beautiful he wanted to meet her, so he ran all over the school and asked everyone if they knew her or have ever seen her before. But everyone he asked said "No." He was devastated,
When he was home, he asked his older sister if she knew the girl, but unfortunately she also said "No."
It was very late, so Tom walked up the stairs, placed the picture on his bedside table and went to sleep.
In the middle of the night Tom was awakened by a tap on his window. It was like a nail tapping. He got scared. After the tapping he heard a giggle. He saw
a shadow near his window, so he got out of his bed, walked toward his window, opened it up and followed the giggling. By the time he reached it, it was gone.
The next day again he asked his neighbors if they knew her. Everybody said, "Sorry, no." When his
mother came home he even asked her if she knew her. She said "No." He went to his room, placed the picture on his desk and fell asleep Once again he was awakened by a tapping. He
took the picture and followed the giggling. He walked across the road, when suddenly he got hit by a car. He was dead with the picture in his hand.
The driver got out of the car and tried to help him, but it was too late. Suddenly he saw the picture and picked it up. He saw a cute girl holding up three fingers.

CHAPTER 9  WHO WAS SHE ?

So a while back my Mom lived in this house on Brindley Mountain(Alabama). The landlord to the place was super anal about making sure they did no remodeling or repairs...he wanted NOTHING
changed. It was odd to say the least. After a while my mom and her BF started saying they think the place was haunted by the ghost of a small girl. They said sometimes they would see the shadow of a girl walk from room to room. Or hear playing in the back when nobody was back there. And sometimes it sounded like a small child was sobbing but couldn't tell where from. Me being an atheist at the time, I kinda blew it off. I was like "yeah...right...haha" So anyway. This was towards the end of me and Ex's relationship. When we split up, I started
living with my mom until I got on my feet. We shared custody of our daughter, Alexis, 50/50. So one week she'd stay with me until Friday, and then she'd go to my Ex's until the following Friday, and then she'd come back with me. She was about 2 going on 3 at the time.
It was Saturday night and I was on the computer. It's probably like 2 in the morning. I'm just surfing music. The computer desk was in the kitchen facing a wall, and on that same wall was the
doorway that led to the den and the bedrooms, so if anyone came out of bed to get something from the kitchen then they would walk right passed me.
Alexis was always getting up in the night and getting into trouble. She'd raid the fridge or knock something over while climbing up on something. She liked to get up in the night and raid the kitchen because she knew everyone was asleep and she could get away with it. So as I said before, this night I happened to be up at 2 am on the computer. I see Alexis sneak into the kitchen with my peripheral vision and she froze when she saw me. And just stood there. I didn't look at her or pay her attention. I figured she had seen me...she knows she's caught...hopefully she will go back to bed and go to sleep without me having to make a big deal of it. So she stands there for about 3 minutes, and I can see her the whole time but I make a point not to look at her
so she will just go back to bed. She eventually turns and walks back towards the bedroom. It was dark in the room...but I could still see her turn and leave.
Everything was dead silent after that. So after about 15 minutes, I got that feeling in my gut that I need to check on her because she's probably up to no good...in 15 minutes I should have heard
her climb back in bed or rustle through toys. Hearing absolutely nothing normally meant she was trying to be quiet for a reason. Every parent gets that sick feeling in their stomach when their kid
is up to no good, and I got that feeling so I got up to check on her. I stood up and walked into the next room that led to the bedrooms. And it was pitch black...couldn't see a thing. And that's
when it hit me... Alexis was with my Ex that night, not with me. I had been used to her being there all week that it
just slipped my mind. So the girl I saw, wasn't her...

CHAPTER 10  CRYBABY

Late last night I woke up to the sound of someone crying. It was an eerie sound, and surprisingly loud as well. Although wanted to get up and go check it out, I was a bit scared and tired so I ignored it by hiding under the covers. Today at breakfast I told my roommate about it. "That was me." She replied with a tone of fear in her voice. What a relief, I thought. "I was crying because I saw a... a thing watching you while you were asleep."

SHORT  WARNINGS (Real Incident Dialogues)

1. You hear your mom calling you into the kitchen. As you are heading down the stairs you hear a whisper from the closet saying "Don't go down there my Child

HAD A STARING PROBLEM,
SHE ALWAYS SEEMED STARING ON MY FACE. UNTIL ONE DAY, WHEN I REALIZED THAT SHE WAS ALWAYS LOOKING JUST BEHIND ME.

3. When next you are completely alone, imagine you are listening to a sound of some kind. When that sounds seems to stop, you'll know that you've been
noticed.

4.I wake up and everything feels wrong; it's
too quiet outside. I look out the window and see everyone standing still, looking at my house.

5.I was having a pleasant dream when what sounded like hammering woke me. After that, I could barely hear the muffled
sound of dirt covering the coffin over my own screams.

6.Don't be scared of the monsters, just look for them. Look to your left, to your right, under your bed, behind your dresser, in your closet but never look up, she
