A Tiger In The Zoo

1) The poem explains the situation of a tiger in the zoo. 

2) The poet narrates a tiger’s erstwhile life in the jungle when he was a free animal and now when he is caged in the zoo. 

3) The poem begins by describing the physical features of the tiger, which is kept in a little cage. 

4) The poet then goes on to describe how a tiger’s life would have been if he was in the jungle. 

5) In the end, the poet once again explains the situation of the tiger in the cage. 

6) The poet says that cage life has changed the personality of the tiger. 

7) He further elaborates that the tiger was a powerful and brave animal in the jungle, and villagers were terrified by his power. 

8) However, now the tiger has been confined in the cage and has turned into a helpless and powerless animal.

Syntatic Functions

INTRODUCTION →When a Subject agrees with its verb. → It can only be expressed in the form of grammatical numericals. i.e. Singular(One in Quantity) and Plural(More in Quantity).  SYNTATICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUBJECT AND VERB → Singular Subject with Singular Verb  → Plural Subject with Plural Verb  → Rules of adding 's' is different, according to the condition of sentence. SOME SYNTATIC RULES 1) Rule of Articles ® Use of double articles with double Subjects in a Sentence with conjunction 'And' → Plural Verb. E.g. The Captain and The Falcon were good Friends. ® Use of Single Article with Double Subjects taking that Singular Article common → Singular Verb. E.g. The Falcon and Captain America is very Powerful. 2) Rule of 'And' ® If Two proper Nouns are together connect with conjunction 'And', then it is manifestly  a plural verb acting over there. E.g.
