Synopsis For The Parts Of Speech

Parts of Speech

There are generally 8 parts of Speech in English Grammar. They are Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb , Preposition , Conjunction and Interjection.

1. Noun→ Noun is the name of anything.

For example- Shero, Rishu,Soma, Tajmahal, Pencil etc.

2. Pronoun→ Pronouns are noun Replacing Words.

For example- He, she , They , We , Myself etc.

3. Verb→ Verbs are doing words.

For example- Walk , Eating , Went , Have etc.

4. Adjectives→ Adjectives are describing words.

For example- Good, Tall, Less, One etc.

5. Adverb→Verb and Adjective describing words are Adverbs.

For example- Slowly, Never, Softly etc.

6. Prepositions→ Relation showing words are Prepositions.

For example- In, Since , Onto etc.

7. Conjunctions→ Sentence Connectors are Conjunction.

For example- And , Nor , For , Because , But etc.

8. Interjection→ Feeling words are Interjections.

For Example- Hurrah! Alas! Ouch! etc.

Syntatic Functions

INTRODUCTION →When a Subject agrees with its verb. → It can only be expressed in the form of grammatical numericals. i.e. Singular(One in Quantity) and Plural(More in Quantity). SYNTATICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUBJECT AND VERB → Singular Subject with Singular Verb → Plural Subject with Plural Verb → Rules of adding 's' is different, according to the condition of sentence. SOME SYNTATIC RULES 1) Rule of Articles ® Use of double articles with double Subjects in a Sentence with conjunction 'And' → Plural Verb. E.g. The Captain and The Falcon were good Friends. ® Use of Single Article with Double Subjects taking that Singular Article common → Singular Verb. E.g. The Falcon and Captain America is very Powerful. 2) Rule of 'And' ® If Two proper Nouns are together connect with conjunction 'And', then it is manifestly a plural verb acting over there. E.g. Shero and Soma are playing together with Ris...
