Articles 

Language is a complex term. Here i am not talking about uses of languages, besides this, we are gonna taking about uses of its components. One of the components of Traditional Grammar that is understood as the simplest from all the lessons but it isn't. 
We are now taking about Definite Article and it's uses. This book is totally based upon the functions of definite Article and it's relation to other nodes of Syntactical Tree. Article generally comes under Traditional Grammar but sometimes he creates panic among us while using it in translation practices and other Syntactical and semantical Aspects. 
According to Contemporary Grammar, Articles come under Determiners. Because of your chaos, we will discuss about articles in this book. 
In simple words, Article is any words(including all languages of the World), which generally used with Nominals(Nouns) to specify them in a sentence according to condition of predicate. Articles which are using to specify specific/Special Nouns are referred Definite Article. In English Grammar, it is only one in quantity which is 'The'. To specify general Nouns we have to use Indefinite Articles including 'A and An' under English Grammar.

Determiners covers many words of different classes in which articles, adjectives and demonstratives are also included in this category. 

Uses of Articles

1. To gain Additional information including its numbers and Quality.

2. Provides a fluent ability to speak English.

3. It makes your sentence really Attractive.

4. Sometimes, It makes your subject long which is generally useful while working in literature. 

5. It tells about the importance of Subject in a Syntactical Statement.

Merits 

1. It provides an easy way to know about our Noun in a Sentence. 

2. Using Articles makes your speaking skills more attractive. 

3. The use of article in a sentence is also helpful in terms of gaining additional knowledge. 

Demerits

1. Using Articles is very confusing.

2. Sometimes using Articles in a sentence, makes it very long which sometimes seems other as boring.


In our modern times , most of the questions in examinations are generally based on articles and it's uses. We know that it is very challenging for us but it is possible.

CHAPTER 2 THE STORY OF DEFINITE ARTICLE 

What is Definite Article?

Articles which are use to specify specific/ Special Nouns are referred to as Definite Article. 

Uses of Definite Articles 

1. Used before the names of inhabitants, even when they are singular in number. For example Indian, American, Nigerian, Spanish etc. 

a) The English used to settle in England, many years ago. (✓) 

b) The Indians generally believe in fake rituals and
 religion. (✓) 

2. Never use Definite Article before the names of the languages. 

a) English is spoken all over the world. 

b) Japanese is my favourite language. 

3. Never use any article before the names of individual group, even when it is written in plural Sense. 

a) Indians are generally believer of myths and taboos.

b) Japanese used to eat noodles. 

4. Definite Article is always used before the names of Mountains.

a) The Alps are very beautiful Mountain.

b) All the Himalayan Mountain are newly formed due different geomorphic Processes.

5. Never put articles in before the names of single mountains. 

E.g a) Mt. Everest is Gingatic.

b) Mont Blance is famous for its numerous Habitats. 

6. Definite Articles is also use while writing about Rivers, Canals, Seas, Oceans, Valleys, Deserts and Forests. 

E.g a) The Suez Canal.

 b) The Gomti river in Lucknow.

c) The Pacific is very deep.

d) The Amazon Rainforest is very Dense and largest in World. 

e) The Valley of Flowers is very big. 

f) The Sahara Desert is the largest Desert on this Planet.

g) Mediterranean Sea is divided Roman Empire and Islamic Lands...Etc.

7. It is use before the names of Ships and Trains.

E.g. a) The Saryu is express runs very fast.

b) Titanic was the largest ship of its time.

8. Do not definite Article before the vehicles when they indicate means of transport. 

a) I used to go with bus.

b) We are going to misslewaithe manor by Train.

9. Never use definite Article before the name of any substance.

a) Gold is peculiar for us.

b) Chappati is made by flour.

10. 'The' must be put if the reference is to a particular kind or type.

a) The Thieves had stolen the Gold.

b) The hotel bread are of poor quality.

11. Do not put definite Article before the names of meals.

Eg. I had had my meal.

12. Use 'the' when subject is taking its meal at a specific place.

a) We have the dinner at London Palladium.

13. Never use definite Article in general case in the condition of plural Nouns.

a) Books are important for humanity.

b) Cars can run Fast.

14. Never use articles with any kind of indoor and outdoor games.

a) I used to play chess.

b) She hate Cricket.

15. Use definite Article with the names of countries who are group of union or United.

a) The U.K. is a secular country. (✓) 

b) The India is very big. (×) 
     Note: No use of any Article.

16. Never use definite Article before the names of officers when their occupation is mentioned in a your sentence. 

E.g Prime minister Narendra Modi.

17. Use definite Article before the names of officers ranks when name is not mention. 

E.g The Chief, The Captain etc.

18. Use definite Article with the Noun which comes earlier in your sentence.

E.g a)A Woman was waking on the Road. The Woman looked futher in search of something.

b) A boy was suffering from Glioblastroma. After some days, the boy was Dead. 

19. Use definite Article before the Noun which shows same class in a sentence. 

Eg. The Dog is faithful Animal.

20. Use definite Article before the names of continents.

Eg. The Africa is famous for its wildlife.

21. To limit the adjective of any noun, use definite Article before it.

Eg. a) The house, which is red is mine.

b) The Girl, who is seeking me, is my girlfriend.

22. Use definite Article before superlative degree of Adjectives.

Eg.a) Elephant is the largest Animal on land.

b) Soma is the most beautiful girl like an Angel.

23. When adjective is used as nominal then you'll have to use definite Article before that particular Adjective.

Eg. The Weak always fail. 

24. With indefinite pronouns in a Syntactical Statement.

Eg. a) Most of the girls are lazy. 

b) All of the students of class IX are requested to attend their respective class now. 

25. When proper nouns is used as common noun. 

a) Kalidas is the Shakespeare of India.

b) Who is known as the Iron man of India? 

26. Use it with 'City and State'.

Eg. 
 a) The City of Prayagraj.
 
 b) The State of Kerala.

27. Use definite Article before geographical terms.

Eg. The North Pole 
       The Equator 

28. Use definite Article before the names of Empires and Dynasties.
 
Eg. 
a) The Mauryan Empire
b) The Gupta Dynasty.

29. Use definite Article before the names of Historical events.

Eg. The Russian Revolution
       The Cold war Era.

30. Definite Articles is also used before the names of special buildings or monuments.

E.g. The Red fort of Delhi
         The Qutub Minar.

31. Use definite Article before the names of parties and Organisations.

Eg. 
a) The BJP is our ruling party. 

b) The Red Eagle.

32. If adjectives are used before proper noun, then you'll have to use definite Article. 

a) The Great Chandragupta Maurya

b) The Little Red Riding hood.

33. Use definite Article before the names of Holybooks.

Eg. The Bible 
       The Quran.

34. Use definite Article before the names of Newspaper.

Eg. The Times of Britain
        The Hindu 

35. Adverb in Comparative Degree.

Eg. a) The higher you go, the cooler you feel.

b) The Sooner it is done, the
 better it is. 

36. When Adjectives are used as Noun you'll have to use definite Article before the names.

Eg. The rich prosper, the poor suffers.

37. Use definite Article before the names of the Parts of Body (if necessary).

Eg. a) He kissed her by the lips .

b) He caught her by the arms.

c) Joel hold her from the waistline. 

38. Use definite Article before the names of invention.

Eg. a) The telephone was invented by Graham Bell.

b) The bulb was invented by Thomas Elva Edison. 

39. Definite Articles is also used before the names of musical instruments.

Eg. Rishu plays the guitar very well. 

40. If there is any contrast shown with Comparative Degree then you'll have to use definite Article.

Eg. a) She is more beautiful than the two other girls.

b) Britannica Encyclopaedia gives more knowledge than the other two Americans encyclopaedias.

41. Use definite Article before the names of religious groups.

Eg. The Hindus 
       The Muslims 
       The Christians

42. Use definite Article before the names of the Armed forces.

Eg. The Navy 
       The Army 
       The Police
        The Airforce

43. Definite Articles is also used before the names of the Branches.

Eg. The legislature
       The Judiciary

44. Use definite Article before the names of club, committee, and Foundations.

Eg. The Rotary Club
       The Ford Foundation
       The United Nations.

45. Definite Articles is also used before the names of festivals.

Eg. The Halloween
       The Christmas
       The Dipawali.

46. Use definite Article before the names of Universities.

Eg. a) The University of Bihar.
      
  b) The Allhabad University.

47. Use definite Article before the names of Diseases.

Eg. a) The Novel Corona Viruse.

b) The Brain Cancer caused Tom Parker's Death.

48. The is used before the names of of things unique of their kind. 

Eg. a) The Earth is our Planet.

b) The Sun gives us Life.

49. Definite Articles is also used before the names of Directions and Dates.

Eg. a) The Sun rises in the East.

b) Her Birthday is on the 15th May 2000.

50. 'The' is used before the names of whole class. 

Eg. a) The Cows are grazing in the field.

b) The Dog is a pet Animal.

51. Definite Articles is also used before Physical position of any Subject or Object.

Eg. On/at the top 
       At the bottom of
       The outer of 
       The front of 
       The Bank of.

52. The sentences shows some literary senses.

Eg. The Judge in him 
       The Guitarist in Joel
       The Singer in Soma
       The Teacher in me 
      The Master in Shero
       The Musician in Rishu etc.

53. Use definite Article before the names of Physical Environment.

Eg. The Rain, The Mist , The Fog.

54. Use definite Article before the names of Ordinal Numbers.

Eg. The Third, The Sixth, The First etc.

55. To show/ Specify any Noun with all in the world.

Eg. a) Captain America was only the person who could hold the whole America in his hand.

b) Only the water.
c) He was the first to win the Olympic match.

56. To show comparison with the Word 'Same' in a Sentence, you'll have to use definite Article before it.

Eg. a) The Coats are the same as we saw in PVR.

b) Your Pen is the same as mine. 

57. Use definite Article before the names of 'Surnames'.

Eg. The Parkers
        The Mauryas
        The Khan
        The Tatas etc.

58. Use definite Article in this structure given below- 

→Nouns + of + Noun

Eg. a) The Boys of this class are intelligent.

b) The People of Tamil are in panic due to Flood.

Syntatic Functions

INTRODUCTION →When a Subject agrees with its verb. → It can only be expressed in the form of grammatical numericals. i.e. Singular(One in Quantity) and Plural(More in Quantity).  SYNTATICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUBJECT AND VERB → Singular Subject with Singular Verb  → Plural Subject with Plural Verb  → Rules of adding 's' is different, according to the condition of sentence. SOME SYNTATIC RULES 1) Rule of Articles ® Use of double articles with double Subjects in a Sentence with conjunction 'And' → Plural Verb. E.g. The Captain and The Falcon were good Friends. ® Use of Single Article with Double Subjects taking that Singular Article common → Singular Verb. E.g. The Falcon and Captain America is very Powerful. 2) Rule of 'And' ® If Two proper Nouns are together connect with conjunction 'And', then it is manifestly  a plural verb acting over there. E.g.
