Every English sentence needs a Verb. It is also as "Soul of English". You'll always notice a Verb in a Sentence. No sentence can be completed without a Verb.
Example- Learn, Accept, Teaching, played, Understand, Going, Read etc.
It maybe any action or existence. So, the two most important property of Verb is concluded from the above discussion that
1. It may show something doing by someone else.
2. It shows state of being in a Sentence.
Eg. Eating, Drunken, Took, Went, Will, Is etc.
FUNCTIONS
1. Acts as an Action Word
2. Describes about the state of Subject.
TYPES
1) Main Verb: Action Words are referred to as Main Verb.
Eg. Going, Fight, Read, Write etc.
2) Auxiliary Verbs: State of being is known as Auxiliary verb.
Eg. Is, Does, Had, Have, Will, Shall, Can etc.

PRINCIPAL VERBS
All the action words, the daily life works and doing words are generally termed known as Main Verbs. They are also known as Lexical Verbs or Real/Ordinary Verbs.
You are reading this topic. Aren't you ? Here this "Reading" is also a Principal Verbs.
Similarly you always sit while studying something else. In this case "Sitting" is also a Main Verb.
Types of Main Verb at Primary Level
They are further divided into two parts as Transitive and Intransitive Verb at Basic Level. Those verbs which always accepts objects with them in a syntatical statement are popularly famous for Transitive verbs and those who never allow or prefer any object with them in a sentence are known as Intransitive ones.
1. Tricky Transitives
I) Ronny is kissing her head.
II) He is writing a Letter.
III) My Mother give me a pen.
All these are the examples of Transitive Verbs.
2. Intransitive Verbs
I) She is sleeping soundly.
II) Shero is waiting for me.
III) The Light was sparkling.
You have to follow the sense of that sentence and it's meaning to identity whether it is Transitive or Not.
Always remember that Arrive and Die functions intransitive.
Types of Main Verb at Advance Level
The two more verbs that you'll have to learn in this chapter is Finite and Non finite Verbs.
Those verbs in which we use the rules of Tenses are known as Finite verbs. They follow the rules of Tenses and it's fields are countable. Always remember that all the main verbs are Finite verbs.
On the other hand, non finites are discovered from finite verbs. They are the forms of verbs are picked from the finites. All main verbs forms are used in both finite and in non finites. We'll have to use these as verbs but not only as main verbs, only to support in a Sentence as Verb and Object.
Always keep in your mind that sentence containing only first form of main verb have only finite ones while more main verbs have non finite Verbs.

I) Infinitive = To + Main verb one.
II) Gerund = Main verb + ing
III) Participle = Third form of Main Verb.
